The Rest of the Story...
Recently I was asked to make some recommendations for book club reading.
It was great fun to choose some of my favorites. Here are three I know you will enjoy:
1. Fire in the Blood by Irene Nemirovsky. Living in France during WWII, Nemirovsky was a popular writer. This novel, along with Suite Francaise, was smuggled out of France after Nemirovsky's death at Auschwitz in 1942. This story weaves the lives of three people over two decades of lies and deceit.
2. Beachcombing at Miramar by Richard Bode. After divorcing his wife, Bode moves to Miramar, CA where he perfects the art of beachcombing for treasures both seen and unseen. His thoughtful prose transports the reader to the beach and his insights are inspirational .
3. A Long Trek Home: 4,000 Miles By Boot, Raft And Ski by Erin McKittrick. In June, 2007, Erin McKittrick and her husband, Hig, left Seattle for the Aleutian Island, traveling solely by human power. This is Erin's story simply told and 100% consuming. I wanted more. For an interesting review and pictures click here.
We are working on our website and expect to have it 'live' by the end of July. We will send an announcement so you can have a look. We are so pleased with how it is evolving. Not only will it help new customers become acquainted with us, it will also be a 'go to' resource for you, our loyal customer.
Happy Reading!
