CELEBRATE MOTHERS EVERYWHERE on May 8
Did you know the first recorded celebration of Mother's Day was just after the Civil War when Ann Jarvis formed a committee to help reunite families who had been divided by the war? Remember to check us out for gifts as we have beautiful bookmarks, handy book covers, and of course Gift Certificates.
CELEBRATE MEMORIAL DAY on May 30. This federal holiday was also started as a result of the Civil War. It started as a memorial to soldiers who had died in that war and has extended into the holiday we now observe. And of course, it traditionally marks the FIRST DAY OF SUMMER! Don't forget to stock up on books for that long weekend!

The Rest of the Story...
REPORTING ON MY BOSTON TRIP
Quilt shops and book shops and lots of grandchildren! Diana, my friend of over

50 years, and I had a great time visiting and enjoying the Boston area.
Besides the above, we also went to the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA. Rockwell lived for 25 years in this small community and used most, if not all of the residents as models. Many of the resident/models docent at the Museum today.
This is the Museum that provided Norman Rockwell's work for the exhibit at the Tacoma Art Museum. That exhibit will run until May 30. By the way, if you haven't been to the Tacoma Art Museum, put it on your list! It always had interesting traveling exhibits, is easy to get to and there is ample parking.
See you soon!
