     The Rest of the Story...

  AN OLD FRIEND
Soon I will be on a plane to Boston.  My friend, Diana, and I met when we were 14 years old.  We were in the same Home Ec class and both of us could sew a straight seam so we got to sit together!
Later Diana moved to California, but as both families were Navy families, we soon followed.  We didn't go to the same High School, but we were college roommates at Washington State University.  We could have drifted apart, but we didn't.
We married, had children, divorced and got old(er).  Over the years we traveled to visit each other, since she had settled in California and I had returned to my Washington State heritage.  In the last few years, however, we have gone adventuring together.
We have attended the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, taken a road trip in Michigan and toured both Australia and New Zealand.
We enjoy those times, but I know the most important connection we have is the one of 'grandmothering'.  And that's what takes me to Boston.  Grandchild #4 has arrived.  He is a month old and I can't wait to hold him!
    NEW FRIENDS
Soon after I am back from Boston we will have our OPEN HOUSE to celebrate nine years of your friendship.   Your support and good will over the years has made our 'home' here a very pleasant place to be.
As with most good friends, you challenge us to continue to strive for "best".  We are constantly looking for new ways to make your reading experience perfect and we welcome your ideas and suggestions.
And, as with good friends, you are there when we need you.  The book business is changing.  We know you have many choices of where to buy your books.  And we appreciate you all the more for choosing to shop with us, bringing us books to sell and telling others about us.
     A BIG PRIZE
Please stop by our store April 16 to say hello and to enter our drawing for FREE BOOKS FOR A YEAR!  It's the best drawing we can think of and you deserve the best!

  See you soon!
