Cookies--Drawing--Good Conversation
We have been meeting for several years and there are many familiar faces waiting to welcome you to our group. Come and meet others who share your enthusiasm for reading. Try us for three monthly meetings and you will be one of the group! You won't be disappointed. And it's absolutely FREE!
This book group is like no other! We rant and rave about books, authors and trends and keep each other informed about new authors and great books to read. Currently this is an 'all women' group, but this is not by design.

 The Rest of the Story...
I did it! I found a special book for each member of my family! And all but one of them was a used book from our store. Talk about a perk for owning a bookstore!
And what fun I had finding just the right book. Beginning around July of last year I started watching for special books. Sesame Street and Thomas the Train for our new Grandson, Sherlock Holmes for my son-in-law, toddler games for my oldest daughter (She's a new mom!), fascinating incidents in history for my husband, a devotional book for my mom and a book about befriending and training a crow for my dad (he watches them outside his dining room window). For my sister, a book of murals. For my brother, a National Geographic book on hiking.
Oh, and that book I had to buy new (and from another store)? It was for Karen and Madison, of course! It was a how-to book on drawing They are the artists in the family and this was the perfect book. What can I say?
Another pleasure I have is browsing our store for unusual books. Over the holidays I read a little known volume of children's Christmas stories by Louisa May Alcott. It's a beautifully bound book and quite delightful to read. I also discovered a short novel written in letters by Jane Austen titled Lady Susan. I read a Christmas mystery by Anne Perry and also thought I had caught up on all of the Joanna Trollope books, only to discover she'd been writing while I wasn't looking and I have FIVE more to read! Hurray.
We have been thrilled with the number of Gift Certificates we sold in December! Some were for our regular customers who said "All I want for Christmas..." and others were for friends and family of our regular customers. What a nice way to introduce Page 2 BOOKS to your friends and family.
Watch for a new section in our store. During January each of us will be creating a shelf' of favorites, with comments about why we liked the book. I'll tell you more about it in our February Newsletter.
