Does your web copy put customers to sleep?

It was not your intention to let bad copywriting find its way to your website.  The intention was to look professional.  Serious.  Business-minded.  Right?BCN logo

Bad web copy is all around us; on virtually every website.  It is silently ruining businesses, like an army of insects eating away at your bottom line.  Rarely can you find a website these days with copywriting so arresting or memorable that you can't help but to stay and read every page.

Ant dancingShake that.  Give me something edgy to read.  Something borderline controversial.  If I want to find a product or service online, I want it to stand out!  I want it to be the most interesting thing since the Tiger Woods scandal.  Well, maybe that's not the best analogy.  The point is, I want to feel emotion.  I want to laugh or at least sit up and take notice.  I want to read something that touches my heart or that makes me think.  That is the real difference between boring writing and awesome writing.

Yet, many companies are falling for the SEO Gods to pump up the keyword density with cliché tactics.  Why not focus on the selling of the products or services, rather than how many times the word appears within a webpage or whether it reaches 7% density on the Google radar?

By trying NOT to be all things to everyone, you can attract a niche with your web copy.  Having a niche means working smarter, rather than charging less to appease more people.  What's the point in that?

Let Awesome Writer evaluate your website and consider a fresh, new polish.  You spent a lot of money on the graphic design of your site.  All fine and dandy, but even the nicest car in the world needs a good polish every once in awhile.  That's what we do.  We polish your web copy until it stands out!  Visit Awesome Writer

5 Things Your Web Copy MUST Do
The first thing you need to ask yourself is, "What am I trying to accomplish?"
Well, is your website a sales site, information portal, portfolio or just an introduction to your company so that people can find you?  Is it just a blog?
Many people forget to think about what they want their website toAnt dancing do.  They focus more on its visual appeal than the actual content that is posted.  High numbers of websites are laden with grammar and spelling mistakes.  Even more are just redundant versions of another site.  We call those the 'Copy Catters'.
There are 5 things your site must do in order to be effective:
  •  Pull and lock in visitors
  • Hold their interest
  • Entertain and inform by speaking directly to them
  • Solve a problem or serve a need
  • Convince visitors to buy from you using compelling calls to action
If your website lacks the "call to action" it needs, let us help you to develop some grabbing headlines and think of reasons why your prospects should choose you over their competitors.  Contact Awesome Writer to inquire!

Recommended Read:

I had to laugh after I read the first chapter of "Book Yourself Solid" by Michael Port. Not because it was especially funny, but because during the time that I read it; I got so inundated with work that I had to leave off reading and focus on writing to get all of the new jobs done that were pouring in.  Ironic, I suppose.

Subsequently, I have finished the book and still hold on to many of the values I learned within its contents.  The subtitle; "The Fastest, Easiest and Most Reliable System for Getting More Clients Than You Can Handle Even if you Hate Marketing and Selling" is a might long, but it accurately sums up what the gist of the book is about.  If that sounds like something you would like to read, here is a link for it on Amazon:  BOOK YOURSELF SOLID
