| Greetings!
Greetings to you from the Northwest Ohio snow land. This white winter reminds me of the great childhood memories of sledding down two favorite local hills called "Killer Hill" and "Cherry Bomb."
We would stop and drool in sheer awe, admiring the bravery of the chosen ones launching their sleds like the NASA spaceship Endeavor on Killer Hill. Their landing scores were promptly judged by the laughter from us seasoned riders. Awesome times!!
In this newsletter, I will share a personal experience of how great it is when something at first seems inconvenient but turns out to be the best Christmas gift any father could receive.
For this month's Customer Spotlight, we will share with you about a great company called Martin Sprocket & Gear.
Enjoy! |
Future Account Executive?
Lauren Kate, my two-year old intern. |
|
As a business owner I love the flexibility of my 24 hour work schedule. During the madness of holidays and meetings with customers, a babysitter vacancy occurred. What to do? It was time for Lauren Kate to understand the value of relationships.
After making a mommy-forbidden stop at our favorite donut shop, Hinkley's, in Jackson, Michigan, Daddy's helper was now prepared to make more stops in six hours than Santa himself. Lauren Kate and I agreed as a contribution to help Santa for Christmas next year, we'll put out a plate of these yummy glazed donut holes by our fireplace. Yum, can't wait!
Thank goodness for the high carb breakfast. With many stops and having to unload and reload Lauren Kate in her car seat, we were ready for the Olympic event of safety seating. After our visit in Northwood, Ohio we felt our bellies tickling our backbones. Lunch time! Pizza was unanimously voted to help replenish our carb depleted bodies. Admiring her business acumen in food recommendations, I made an executive decision and swore her in as a new member of our company's advisory board.
Driving as any father would, beaming while completely breaking more "Forbidden Food Rules," I turned around and noticed the exhaustion of our visits had defeated this rebellious excitement. Probably better off, right moms? I smiled and with a soft, humbled laughter thanked my Father because I realized how this day was my best Christmas gift ever.
Thank you to those who accommodated my sales intern during our visit. A big THANK YOU shout to Becky at TAC for the Tinker Bell, or Tinker Butt as Lauren Kate calls her, stationary and stickers. They were well used in our 2010 sales planning between visits.
Lastly, did you happen to notice my fashion-conscious intern is safety minded as well? Notice her eye protection firmly gripped in her left hand as she dreams of her next plant tour. |

Customer Spotlight
"Manufacturer of Power Transmission Products, Material Handling Components and Systems and Industrial Hand Tools."
|
|
"Keeping things Moving" is the slogan this great company embraces because in virtually every industry and every business, Martin is there. Sudden Service "is there" as well having served their expedited needs since our inception in 1993.
Martin Sprocket has grown from a modest beginning in 1951 to currently a market leader with locations strategically placed in the United States and internationally as well. Their products and operation include machining, fabrication, forging, casting, power metal technology and plastic injection molding of power transmissions and conveying products.
The industries served by Martin Sprocket include Aggregate, Agriculture, Beverage Bottling, Chemical Processing, Food Processing, Mining, Oil, Packaging, Plastics, Pulp & Paper, Refineries, Rubber, Steel, Textiles, Utilities and Water Treatment. Wow, did I miss one?
Delivering their quality products seems to create memorable stories because of the vast industries they serve. My favorite is when a piece was shipped to a coal mine operations in West Virginia. When we arrived at the mine, our driver was given delivery instructions. He had to maneuver the van up the side of a mountain on a safe pathway until he reached the top. From there he followed the pathway down inside the mountain. Hearing the driver share this story with me seemed comparable to a wild fishing experience.
From urgent ground deliveries to the Midwest and South to critical air shipments from Texas to Oregon, our services are committed as Martin Sprocket says "Keeping things Moving."
Thank you Martin Sprocket! |
