Worlds collide when three of ballet's premier choreographers stage an ensemble of imaginative, avant-garde works on Atlanta Ballet for FUSION: Lambarena & a World Premiere, March 25-27 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.


The evening begins with Lambarena, a blending of traditional African rhythms and dance with melodic passages from Johann Sebastian Back.  In addition, experience the expressive The Right of Spring, a world premiere by Christopher Hampson, who created the stylish and exhiliarating Sinfonietta Giocosa for Atlanta Ballet.  Finally, Helen Pickett's Petal offers a delicate performance that "inventively

explores the intersection of ballet and modern dance."

This groundbreaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights is edited by Eve Ensler and Mollie Doyle and commissioned by V-Day for the first V-Day: UNTIL THE VIOLENCE STOPS festival, which took place June 2006 in New York City.   The writings are inspired, funny, angry, heartfelt, tragic, and beautiful. Publix MarathonAs spring approaches, it slowly becomes marathon season. It's time to get outside and get in shape. The Publix Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon is one of the best. The race takes place on Sunday, March 20 and is a showcase of historic Atlanta, Decatur and the neighborhoods in between. The end and beginning of the marathon are located at Centennial Olympic Park. Registration ranges from around $80-$100. Volunteers are needed for the event as well.
