Opens This Weekend! NETHERWORLD

SURREAL COLLEGE NIGHT AT THE HIGH

The High Museum of Art will host a Surreal College Night on Saturday, September 25, from 7 p.m. to midnight. Students and visitors will enjoy a night of live music, gallery viewing, a do-it-yourself workshop, drawing from a live model, and photos. All the activities are inspired by the museum's newest exhibition, "Dali: The Late Work," which focuses on Dali's art after 1940, and features 115 works, including 40 paintings and a related group of drawings, prints and other Dalí ephemera. Student admission will be $7 with a valid student I.D. Students with High Museum Student memberships get in FREE. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Live performances by local bands including The Balkans, The Back Pockets and Phonepunk will entertain visitors as they walk through the galleries.

MIDTOWN FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS
Come down to the Midtown Mile and celebrate the first Midtown Festival of the Arts. With a large Artist Market on Peachtree Street, Kid Zone, culinary area with some of Atlanta's finest restaurants, Beer Garden, Peachtree Street Photobooks and performing arts stages, this will be a celebration of all types of art, with exciting events for every member of your family. This will be a free event accessible by MARTA's Midtown and North Avenue stations. A festival kickoff event is planned for Friday, Sept. 24, with an Art Auction featuring 30 bar stools created by Midtown artists. On the morning of Saturday, Sept. 25, the Midtown Mile Road Race will take place from Colony Square to the Fox Theatre. A Saturday evening outdoor film event on Peachtree Street at 10th is planned with a start time of dusk on Saturday.

September 25 CHILI COOK-OFF

This annual event is happening at Stone Mountain Park on September 26 and is expected to draw over 300 teams from across the USA. It is a premier chili cook-off and total attendance from last year exceeded 14,000 people, filling up the meadow at Stone Mountain Park. The cook-off has something for all ages, from great music to great food and games for the whole family. 100% of all proceeds made at the cook-off go to support Camp Twin Lakes.
Admission is $10 (kids 12 and under are free) and includes live music with four bands, chili samples, games, prizes and sponsor giveaways.

Enjoy free general admission for you and a guest at hundreds of museums and cultural venues nationwide. Download the Museum Day admission card from the website to receive free admission at participating locations.
