Message From the Executive Director

Page-Lake Powell Greetings!

Thank you to all our members for supporting our Annual Awards Banquet at the Point. We wish to thank our corporate sponsors this year: NGS/SRP, CBHS, Coconino County, CCC, Colorado River Discovery, Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas, Canyonlands Health Care, Gunsight Realty, Warner-Gleave Insurance, and The Point.
Thank you to all the Chamber members
who have once again donated so generously to our fundraising efforts. With your support
we can continue to offer programs and events throughout the year.
Congratulations to Cory Johnston for winning the Humanitarian of the Year 2010 and to Lake Powell Ford for winning the Best Customer Service category.
We had about 300 Best of Page ballots turned in this year. For a complete list of the winners, go to our website. The Best of Page program has several agendas behind it. The first is to Honor the Businesses voted the "Best" by Page locals, and second, this is our annual membership drive, as only Chamber members can win the Best of Page. We signed up 7 new members this year. And we have interest from a few more businesses with out-of-town ownership. This is good news...
Please join us this week for the monthly mixer sponsored by Coconino County at the Courtyard by Marriott. Stop by and meet our leaders and staff at the County.
We are working on the Page/Lake Powell Cruisin' Show, May 6th & 7th. We have availability for vendors and participants. Visit our website for more information. www.pagelakepowellcruisin.com

Have a great month and we'll see you around.

 Small Business Administration in Page

Classes, Resources, Seminars and Clinics

The Small Business Development Center offers several convenient and affordable workshops for those contemplating a business and for those already established:

  • Business Basics - gets you started with everything from licensing to market research, hiring issues to legal business structures.
  •  Business Plan Writing - identifies the typical components of a business plan to allow you to organize and examine your own thinking and prepare you to sell your idea to investors or lenders.
  • Quickbooks - provides you with an introduction to "business scorekeeping" in a clear and easy introductory format.
  • NxLevel for Entrepreneurs - a 32-hour, results-oriented curriculum designed for those who want to improve or expand their business.  The course is usually held over the course of 10 weeks and covers industry research, marketing strategies, controls and records, organizational structure, finance, real-world negotiations, alternative funding sources, and growth management.  Guest speakers - experts in the various topics - are present at the majority of classes.
  • Profit Mastery - an internationally acclaimed seminar that may be the most powerful 16-hour investment you'll ever make in your business.  Profit Mastery combines case studies, interactive activities, and lively discussion in a down-to-earth style that will infuse "numbers know-how" into the very foundation of your business.  You'll walk away with the tools to improve profitability, cash flow, and financial performance.
