Message From the Executive Director
Greetings!
The summer is in full swing. It is wonderful to see the hundreds to thousands of visitors in our city every day. Monsoon season is just starting to tease us with the cooling rains.
This weekend is our nation's birthday - The anniversary of our declaration of independence. As we celebrate with bar-b-q's, fireworks, games, parades, and lake-time, remember to celebrate safely.
Chamber Board members, Terri Minnich and Judy Edwards have worked diligently to gather volunteers to help with the parade and in the park on Saturday, July 3rd. We have games, contests, food vendors, a wet-t-shirt contest (for your pet), pony rides, music, and of course, the ever popular water canon supplied by the Page Fire Department. Events such as these, can only be successful with everyone's help. We want to thank our volunteers for giving back to the community.
The Board has decided to change our meeting days to the 3rd Tuesdays of the month. Unfortunately, there is a conflict this month, so this month's meeting is on the 2nd Tuesday, July 13 at 6:00 pm at the Chamber office. All members are welcome to attend.
Please join us for the Mixer at PEU at 6:00 pm. Tour this beautiful facility. The Canyon King Pizzeria is catering this mixer. We hope to see you there.
Have a great month and if you are traveling, please stay safe.

Dad's Advice!
I was fortunate enough to have a meeting the other day with a very successful businessman down in Flagstaff. The conversation rolled around to my asking him what the keys to his success had been. He never hesitated. He said all of his success stemmed from two things that his dad said to him when he was a young man. "First", said his dad, "you'll never get anything in life if you don't ask for it." "Second", his dad continued, "If you ask enough people enough times, someone is going to say yes." This successful businessman told me that he keeps these two bits of advice uppermost in his mind to this day - 40 years later. He has thought about them every day. How successful has he been? He describes himself as a serial entrepreneur. He started his first company in his 20's and sold it about 10 years later for $600 million. His second company sold for slightly more than that after only 6 years in operation (he was getting faster). After a few years' hiatus as a successful venture capitalist, he recently started his third company, for which he has already been offered $100 million. He turned it down. To call his dad's advice priceless would be an understatement. He said he wouldn't mind if I passed along his dad's advice to friends of mine.
