Message From the Executive Director
Greetings!
November starts out a very busy month.
The Northern Arizona Council of Governments, Economic Development District and the City of Page is hosting the 2009 NACOG Economic Development/Tourism Forum November 3-6 at the Courtyard by Marriott. The Chamber is hosting the opening reception on Tuesday. Friday's sessions are open to the public.
The 2009 Page - Lake Powell Hot Air Balloon Regatta is from the 4th thru the 8th. The Vendor Fair and Balloon Glow is on the 7th on Lake Powell Blvd. We have a record number of vendors this year. Thanks to all the businesses and non-profit agencies for being a part of this great event.
The Holiday Home Tours is seeking homes to participate this year. This is an annual scholarship fundraiser for our local women.
The Chamber of Commerce has a new home. We are moving to the space next to Cellular One on Lake Powell Boulevard. We are all excited about the move later this month. We are seeking donations for 2 new or gently used desks. Please help us furnish our new digs.
I ask you to welcome Dee Dee Sadler to the Chamber as the Administrative Assistant and Sales & Marketing Manager. Dee Dee will be in charge of Web and Information Guide advertising sales.
As you give thanks for those you love, remember your less fortunate neighbors this month. The Circle of Page supports those neighbors with your help.
Have a Happy Regatta, a Happy Thanksgiving, and a very safe month.
CC Cobb

| Most families are still feeling the effects of the economic crisis and high unemployment. Families with children are going hungry, and are desperately seeking emergency food assistance.
Proud seniors in our communities are barely surviving on fixed incomes. They are unable to afford both their medicine and meals.
A successful Thanksgiving Appeal will go a long way toward fighting the problem of hunger here in Page. A gift from you now of $15 or $25 will make it possible for the Circle of Page Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen to provide more meals to your hungry neighbors. So please give as much as you can. Thank you.
Sincerely,
CC Cobb
Interim Executive Director
P.S. As you give thanks for those you love, remember your less fortunate neighbors. Please send your most generous gift today.

Terry Goddard Warns Consumers to Beware of Fraudulent Flu Products |
Attorney General Terry Goddard is warning Arizonans to be wary of products sold online that claim to diagnose, prevent, treat or cure the H1N1 flu virus. Goddard urges consumers to purchase only FDA-approved items and talk with their physician when they consider purchasing any drugs, nutritional supplements or other products claiming to protect against the flu. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently purchased and analyzed several products marketed online as Tamiflu (oseltamivir), one of two drugs approved by the FDA for treatment of the H1N1 flu. Of the five products the FDA tested, one contained none of the active ingredients in Tamiflu. The other four contained varying levels of the drug that were not approved for use in the U.S. and could potentially harm patients. Goddard said federal officials have sent warning letters to more than 140 promoters of sham products. The products include phony prescription drugs, "sterilizers," fake food supplements, magic shampoos, facemasks, a "silver spray" claiming to protect against the flu virus and a phony "photon" machine marketed with the false claim that it boosts the immune system. Additional guidelines regarding the H1N1 flu and other helpful information for consumers is available on the FDA Web site, www.fda.gov. If you believe you have been a victim of consumer fraud, please contact the Attorney General's Office in Phoenix at 602.542.5763, in Tucson at 520.628.6504, or outside the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas at 1.800.352.8431. Consumers can also file complaints online by visiting the Attorney General's Web site at www.azag.gov. To file a complaint in person, the Attorney General's Office has satellite offices throughout the state with volunteers available to help. Locations and hours of operation are posted on the Attorney General's Web site.
