November Guest SpeakerSpeaker
Carlos Alvarez Cotera
Tuesday November 24, 7:00-9:00 pm
This month's presenter is Carlos Alvarez Cotera, MHA vice-president and fine artist with experience in many mediums; from acrylic and oils to clay and watercolor.

Carlos will be demonstrating how to draw without the use of tracing, grids, light-boxes or projectors. He strongly believes that the practice of drawing is essential to every artist, no matter what the style or medium.

An accomplished painter, a former gallery and frame-shop owner, Carlos is currently being represented by four different galleries located in Key West, Charlotte and North Wilkesboro. His work is in many private and public collections and he currently offers classes in Drawing, Watercolor and Acrylic/Oil at Mint Hill Arts, as well as in Charlotte's South End and Dilworth locations.

December Social
Tuesday, December 8, 6:30pm
In December our member social will take the place of our regular presentation. Bring a snack or dessert and enjoy the company of our membership.

We would also like to encourage member participation in an Artist trading card exchange at this party...

Artist Trading Cards (ATC's)  are small, baseball card-sized works of art that you trade for cards by other artists. If you'd like to make and  trade ATC's, bring 10 to the December meeting (December 22) and you'll  get 10 back from your fellow MHA artists.

About ATC's:
  • Cards are 2.5" X 3.5."  You can make your own or buy pre-cut cards (Binders and Cheap Joe's carry them).
  • On the front, make your work of art using any medium.
  • Sign, date and title the work on the back.
  • Trade your cards and start a collection of ATC's by other artists.
