April Presentation Karen Smith-Metalwear Tuesday, April 28th, 7:00-9:00 pm
|
Our April presenter, Karen Smith, has been making jewelry for five years. Her work has won several awards and can be found in many North Carolina galleries and stores. Karen is knowledgeable in the fundamentals of metalsmithing such as soldering, forging, etching and enameling. For this presentation, she will discuss the history of enameling and explain how each technique is done. She likes to incorporate exotic woods, beads, and even everyday objects like rocks, rusted metal, and hair into her jewelry. Her unconventional, out-of-the box approach to creating jewelry should be inspirational.
