Message from the director

I just returned from attending the Illinois Library Association's annual conference in Rosemont and while there, was honored to pick up two very prestigious awards for the library.  The first was the DEMCO/Hugh C. Atkinson Memorial Award for our Literacy Suite and the second was the ILA/Highsmith Award for our Early Learning Center.  Both awards are for innovation in librarianship.

When was the last time you visited your award-winning public library?  Come visit us and see the changes we're making, and bring your neighbors and friends.

Bus to Us!

bus to usThe Under the Sea Exhibit in the Children's Department, generously sponsored by North Shore Gas, is making waves. The exhibit offers so many learning opportunities that the library began offering free field trips to District 60 classes to explore the displays.  The program will continue with free field trips until the exhibits close in November.  Bus to Us! is generously sponsored by the Harold M and Adeline S. Morrison Foundation.
