Effective immediately, patrons get two hours of free parking in the garage located at the corner of County and Clayton.  Show your library card at the Customer Service Desk and get your parking pass validated.

United Way Early Learning Club - Preschool Program

Ray Bradbury Room

This program is for children 3, 4, or 5 years of age and their caregivers. Children will work on early learning skills such as letter recognition and counting.  This program is limited to 20 families.   Please register.

Early Learning Center Camps - Preschool Program

Various days and time; mornings and evenings
Early Learning Center
Recommended for ages 3-5.  Each session is limited to 15 children and their caregiver.  Little Scientists, Spring Crafts, Arts and Crafts, Fun and Games.  English and Bilingual.  See calendar for more info and to register. 
 

Terrific Twos - Preschool Program 

Monday, April 11 and 18, 9:30-9:50 a.m.

Early Learning Center 

Parents/Caregivers and their two-year-old child will have fun using different art materials to create a variety of art projects.  Please register.  Each camp session is limited to 10 children and their caregivers.

Bus to Us! - Youth Program

Take a school class field trip to the Waukegan Public Library and see the all new Children's Exhibit - Lake Michigan-A Great Lake!  Reservations are now being accepted for the fall of 2011 semester and must be made by the school.  For Grades 3 through 6.  Transportation courtesy of the library.  For more information on this program and to reserve your date please contact, Patrick Toto, Children's Department Supervisor at 847-623-2041 x 285 or by email.

Imagine seeing a stream of water pass, mystifyingly, right through a person's midsection.  Come to this spectacular water show, and witness tricks of magic and illusion that will keep you wondering for weeks.  Please register.

Rave Nation: 3rd Annual Guitar Hero Tournament - Teen Program

It's that time again for an evening of rocking out. The four winners will receive a $60 gift card to Toys R Us. Grab your glow sticks, put on some neon gear, and have a blast competing for the title of Guitar Hero Champion.  Register early!  Registration starts April 13th and ends May 4th. Contestants must show their I.D's proving they are in Middle School.  Platform: Playstation 3   Game: Guitar Hero, Warriors of Rock.

What can you make out of t-shirts scraps, pop tabs, and bottle caps?  Amazing and unique fashion accessories!  You'll learn a finger weaving technique that you can use to make bracelets, headbands and even scarves.  We'll turn bottle caps into locker magnets and pop tabs into funky bracelets.  Grades 6 - 12.
