Century Farmhouse is tucked into a blanket of snow and is snug and warm inside. The view from the kitchen encompasses snow-laden trees and a lovely winter sunrise. Warm cocoa, hot oatmeal, and wooly sweaters make the chill go away. January can bring icy blasts to our area of lovely Wisconsin, but we're warm and ready to enjoy the wintertime.
Snowballs are on my mind today though, as I watch the falling snowflakes dance on the breeze outside. There is a lot of soap to be made for the upcoming weeks, but I need to make room for the new batches to dry. A sale is always a good thing....and a
snowball soap sale seems very appropriate somehow. Nothing is ever wasted when the soap is made, so the trimmings of the soaps are made into lovely snowballs which are surprisingly easy to handle and last a long time in a well-drained soap dish! What a delightful way to decorate and perfume a room and enjoy the feel of
Century Farmhouse® soap at the same time. There are lots of soap varieties available in the snowball shapes, so be certain to see the list on the website and choose your favorites!
January is also a wonderful time to feature a soap made with snow.
Eucalyptus Ice Snow Soap is scented with eucalyptus essential oil and really is made with good, old fashioned, Wisconsin snow. December was a record month for snowfall in our area, with nearly 50 inches of snow in less than a month; and needless to say, I made soap with snow! When I first started making the
Eucalyptus Ice soap several years ago, my daughter Erin would call it, "cough drop soap." It does indeed remind one of the eucalyptus-flavored cough drops, but that scent is fresh and clean and perfect for clearing away winter stuffiness!
Do take the time to browse through the soap selections on the website as this is the time of year that I work on new ideas and soap recipes. You never know what you might find! Remember, too, that
Century Farmhouse® soaps are perfect to share with friends, family, and co-workers!
Happy 2009!
