Current Chamber projects include:
Project #1: (above) The State of Vermont will be visiting the Okemo Valley on 4/13 from 9am-12n for a half-day Ambassador Training at the Green Mountain Banquet and Conference Center (American Legion) in Chester. THIS IS A MUST ATTEND for all owners as well as front end employees. The State will also be introducing the VERMONT INFO SIGNS online program. RSVP a must! This is open to all businesses in the Towns of Andover, Cavendish, Chester, Ludlow, Mount Holly, Plymouth and Weston.
Project #2: Making Route 100 a byway recognized by the State. Our first meeting of the steering committee was held Friday, March 26th. We discussed an inventory of our areas intrinsic qualities. What we envision our byway will represent in the following categories; archeological, cultural, historic, natural, recreational and scenic. We will have public hearings and will present the plan to the regional planning commissions and select boards in Weston, Ludlow and Plymouth. We also invited Londonderry and Killington to participate to continue the Route 100 byway North and South of us.
Project #3: Looking at alternative spots for Chester businesses to share while the bridge construction project is underway so the businesses will have retail space available,( on the other side of the bridges). We're presently looking at the Chester Train Depot for co-op space. ###
Senator Patrick Leahy is hosting the 14th Annual Women's Economic Opportunity Conference on Saturday, May 15th in Randolph. To register, go online to http://leahy.senate.gov ###

Marketing Committee News
A meeting of the marketing committee was held on March 26th.
We discussed the website and new improvements. Please change your enhanced listing winter photos/text over to summer on our website. Send summer pictures to Marji.

The 27th Annual Vermont Travel Industry
Conference will be held on April 7 &
8, 2010 at the Stoweflake Resort in Stowe, Vermont. The event will feature
compelling keynote speakers, pertinent workshops on industry topics and trends,
and a trade show featuring over 30 exhibitors who sell products or services to
the tourism industry. Our Chamber entered our co-op advertising campaign for a possible award!!! For more
