Membership Committee News

The Membership Committee meets on the last Tuesday of every month.  Ken Saccardo of Spring River Enterprises joined the membership committee.
The committee welcomes new members to join.
The Agenda for the meeting in June consisted of developing a strategic plan to recruit 100 new members by 2011. (50 new companies/year). The committee is putting together ideas to make this happen and would love any suggestions other members may have.  The committee is still working on more benefits for our M2M Benefit program. Rob Perry already saved $500 using his M2M card!!!!

Click on this link http://www.yourplaceinvermont.com/about-us/member-benefits.aspx to see what is available to you and start saving today!  Call Marji 228-5830 to offer something from your company.
Let's do business with each other and keep it local.

The Membership Committee is working on a coupon book.  Think about what you want to offer visitors in our Okemo Valley.  Suggestions might be: Green Mountain Sugar House tokens for free creemies or free appetizer with dinner or a free greeting card with the purchase of a book....be creative.
Email Laura Tuttle-Williams with your offer at calmmoments@yahoo.com.  Put Coupon in subject line.

The special this month is from Arbonne.  All Chamber members who sign up to be an Arbonne Preferred Client will have the $29 signup fee waived.  As a Preferred Client, you will receive 20% off all orders plus a Free product (up to $100 Retail Value) upon your 1st order of $150 or more.

Marketing Committee News

The marketing committee met on June 18 at Spring River Enterprises in Ludlow.  Thank you to Ken Saccardo for hosting the meeting.  The hot topics were the strategic marketing plan, banner ads, blogs and video development.  The marketing team will be presenting the marketing plan to the Board of Directors at the July meeting.  This brief overview will be the culmination of over a year of planning and ongoing efforts of the marketing team and Marji.  The new website will soon have ad banner space available on twenty-one pages.  Marji will have more details for you within the next few weeks.  The new Okemo Valley blog will be coming online in July.  We are still seeking writers from around the valley.  This blog will be focused on promoting the flavor, character and activities in the Okemo Valley.  And lastly, for the month of June, Suzanne from Fall Mountain Productions is reworking the chamber DVD "Breathing Space in Vermont".  She will be adding the new branding and website to the opening and closing, in addition to freshing pictures/video and a new voice over.  This DVD will be used at the Big E on September 23 & 24th as well as other shows and in fulfillment packages.

Legislative Update

Is anyone else furious about the Comcast price increase?  We have only heard complaints from one Inn about the new bulk rate increase and we know there have to be more of you affected.  The power lies in numbers so please reach out.  Many thanks to Jeff Seymour from The Colonial House Inn & Motel for joining the committee.  We could still use a few more.  Contact Tesha with your needs and interest:  tesha@goodcommons.com
