Call 251-438-5591 to R.S.V.P. Grant awards will fund programs that provide health and human services to children with mental and physical disabilities to help improve their quality of life. The Youth Grant Allocation Board of The Community Foundation of South Alabama is a group of sophomores, juniors, and seniors nominated by public and private high schools in Mobile and Baldwin counties. The students are trained and directed to serve as board of grantmakers by the staff of the Foundation.

| Foundation Announces 2012 Board Of Directors And Officers | | |
March Annual Meeting
The Community Foundation of South Alabama announced its Board of Directors and Officers for 2012 at the Annual Meeting held on March 22nd.

More than $63 million in grants have been distributed since the Foundation was incorporated in 1976 for the single purpose of improving the quality of life in South Alabama.
The Community Foundation of South Alabama currently holds 427 charitable funds and $54 million in assets that were established by our friends and neighbors to benefit the community.
"I am honored to have been a small part as your Chairman during the wonderful forward movement of the Foundation, which will undoubtedly improve the lives and future for thousands of those in the areas we are serving and will serve," said Raymond Wingard, chairman 2010-2012, The Community Foundation of South Alabama.
Officers for 2012 include: Chairman Bernard H. Eichold II, M.D., Dr. P.H., F.A.C.P., health officer, Mobile County Health Department; Vice Chairman Norman D. Pitman III, president, N.D. Pitman & Co.; Secretary Kelvin J. Hill, vice-president, Georgia-Pacific Naheola Operations; Treasurer Mary Kathleen Miller, managing partner, Armbrecht Jackson L.L.P.; Immediate Past Chair Raymond R. Wingard, president, Wingard Enterprises, Inc.

Nonprofit organizations and government agencies located in Clarke and Escambia counties are invited to submit an application. |
| Foundation Awards $32,330 To Promote Public Interest In The Arts And Classical Music | | | Grants Made Possible By Clyde C. Snyder Art And Classical Music Fund

The Community Foundation of South Alabama has awarded grants totaling $32,330 from the Clyde C. Snyder Fund to promote public interest in the arts and classical music.
The Clyde C. Snyder Fund grant competition awarded six grants supporting programs and events that integrate the arts in curricular activities and bring the arts to at-risk youth, low-income families, senior citizens, and people with disabilities.
The following organizations received grants from the Clyde C. Snyder Art and Classical Music Fund.
Mobile Association for Retarded Citizens, Inc. - $5,000 Mobile Museum of Art - $7,860 Prichard Preparatory School - $7,000 United Methodist Inner City Mission, Inc. - $2,000 Ballet and Theatre Arts Performing Companies - $5,000
Eastern Shore Art Center - $5,470

The Community Foundation of South Alabama has announced grants totaling $39,000 for programs that advance the work of creating just and equitable communities. These organizations represent a broad range of environmental, social, economic, and racial justice groups committed to enhancing grassroots advocacy and civic engagement.
