| Foundation Seeks Grant Proposals | | |
Grant Proposals Due November 1, 2011
The Community Foundation of South Alabama has announced the availability of Field of Interest grants which target specific programs.
Applications for Field of Interest grants are due by November 1, 2011.
Grant applications for the Clyde C. Snyder Fund will be accepted until January 10, 2012.
Nonprofit organizations located within Baldwin, Clarke, Choctaw, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington counties in Alabama are invited to submit a grant proposal.

Disaster Relief Fund
 The Community Foundation of South Alabama is accepting donations to the Disaster Relief Fund to provide catastrophe assistance for our fellow Alabamians impacted by the tornadoes that roared through the state. Your gift will help provide the resources that are needed to help our neighbors rebuild their lives.

| Community Foundation Awards $80,000 For April Tornado Disaster Relief | | |
Disaster Recovery For Uninsured House Repairs
The Community Foundation of South Alabama has awarded $80,000 to the Alabama West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church to support the long term disaster recovery efforts resulting from the April 2011 Alabama Tornadoes.
 The United Methodist Church is providing case management support for the five declared disaster areas in South Alabama including Choctaw, Clarke, Escambia, Monroe and Washington Counties.
The grant will support disaster recovery efforts for households that are uninsured or underinsured and still have unmet needs that include house repairs and loss of personal property.

Worlds of Opportunity
The Community Foundation was a sponsor of the Worlds of Opportunity Career Expo held at the Gulf State Fairgrounds September 28-29, 2011.

The hands-on job fair was attended by more than 9,700 eighth grade students from Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington Counties.
The goal of the Career Expo is to help students take the first step towards choosing a career path and to become familiar with the broad variety of jobs that are available in our area.
