Guide for Music Lovers Gentle Reader,
We know what it's like. We've been attending parties, going to concerts, shopping (but ending up seeing the perfect item that we just had to have for ourselves), cooking festive dinners, going to work and feeling good because we've resisted (somewhat) the lure of baking being offered, dealing with all things family-related - and now it is December 16. A certain portly someone is due to shimmy down your chimney WAY too soon, and there seems to be an ever-growing list of names still on your 'to buy for' list.
Fear not: Elektra offers several quick and easy last minute gifts. This short and simple list of 5 suggestions just may help relieve a bit of pre-Christmas stress.

1. Elektra's Music
With the relaunch of www.elektra.ca you may now purchase recordings directly through the website by using PayPal, clicking through to iTunes, or choosing to purchase through CDBaby.com. You'll find convenient links to each purchasing option on each CD page. (We highly recommend our latest disc, Elektra's Garden, as well as our Christmas CDs, Child of Grace and A Ceremony of Carols. The latter is only available as a digital download.)
Tip: If you're concerned that a physical CD might not reach your favourite nephew in Shanghai if you order it now, then gift him the music through iTunes. (Just click on the iTunes button on the CD page.)
All of Elektra's recordings may now be purchased through our website.
2. Concert Tickets
Elektra has fabulous upcoming concerts in the new year, and tickets fit easily into Christmas cards or Christmas stockings.
   a) Welcome the World: A Choral Gala is our joint concert with Vancouver Chamber Choir, musica intima, and Chor Leoni Men's Choir, as part of the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad. How often do you get to hear 4 of Canada's top choirs on stage at the same time? This is going to be an amazing concert and tickets are available now.
b) Canadian Voices From Healey Willan to folk to avant garde, Canadian music has it all, and Elektra has teamed up with Chor Leoni to present a selection of musical colours from this great kaleidoscope of richness in Canadian Voices. Our audience will hear the beautiful tone colours of each choir on their own as well as in a thrilling combination of 80 voices!
c) Romance: Schumann, Brahms & Fauré Elektra offers an early summer afternoon's entertainment, and an invitation into a musical age where fantasy, imagination, and a quest for adventure and far away lands played an important role. Come and be borne away into the golden reveries of Romance: Schumann, Brahms & Fauré.

3. Simply Elektra
 Everyone loves a night out, so why not give your Significant Other (and yourself, of course) permission to enjoy a wonderful evening with your favourite women's choir? As the title implies, this evening is simply a time to mingle with the choir, enjoying great food, great music and great company. The program will include a live and silent auction, wine raffle, and the musical stylings of Elektra.Tip: Clicking on the Simply Elektra graphic will take you directly to the Elektra PayPal page where you can order tickets.
4. Make a Donation in Someone's Name
 Everyone has at least one person on their list that literally has everything. Do they really need another box of chocolates, bad tie, or pair of slippers? For these friends, consider making a donation to Elektra in their name. We have several options for giving which you can find on the Support Us page of the Elektra website, including our innovative 'non-gala listening experience,' From the Hearth.
Tip: If you make a donation in someone's name, please email us with the particulars so that we can ensure proper recognition on our website and at our concerts.
5. Your Christmas Soundtrack

The concert is also due to appear any day now on CBC's Concerts on Demand, where  you'll also find our recent performance of Mendelssohn's Midsummer's Night with the VSO and Exhilaration! Tapestry International's Grand Finale concert available for your listening pleasure.
