From the Heart &
An Elegant Evening with Diane

From the Heart ad
Dear friends of Elektra,

As you know, Diane Loomer co-founded Elektra Women's Choir, and has co-conducted it for 22 years.

During this time, she has been our mentor, fearless leader, and dear friend. Elektra is planning a special concert and dinner in Diane's honour on May 31.

From the Heart will be her final concert as co-coductor of Elektra. It will take place at 3:30 pm at Ryerson United Church and be hosted by Shelagh Rogers.

Repertoire for From the Heart includes some of Diane's favourite works by composers ranging from MacIntyre, Schafer and Orbán to Casals, Tormis, Daley, and more. We have deliberately kept the ticket price affordable (a low $20!) so that as many people as possible may join us for this celebration. Tickets for the concert are already selling well, so please don't delay purchasing yours.

Following the concert we will gather at the Shaughnessy Restaurant in VanDusen Gardens for an elegant dinner celebrating Diane's 22 years with Elektra. We know she would love you to be there. Tickets for the dinner are available separately from the concert and cost $80 each.

Diane Loomer Commissioning Fund for Elektra Women's Choir

There is one more tribute to Diane that we have created, and that is the new Diane Loomer Commissioning Fund for Elektra Women's Choir. An important part of Elektra's mission is to "inspire and lead in the choral art form through the creation, exploration and celebration of women's repertoire." Over the years, Elektra has commissioned, premiered and performed over 50 new works. This commissioning fund will build on that tradition and be a legacy to continue honouring Diane.

We hope you will be able to join us for both the concert and the elegant dinner. Please click on the link below to receive the order form for concert and/or dinner tickets.

Please submit it before April 27 to help us plan for this special day in celebration of Diane.
