THE COLLECT FOR SUNDAY O God, whose Son Jesus is the good shepherd of your people: Grant that when we hear his voice we may know him who calls us each by name, and follow where he leads; who, with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

REFLECTION
MY LORD GOD, I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you.
And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it.
Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death.
I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

- Thomas Merton, "Thoughts in Solitude"

CONFIRMATION REDUX: AN ALL-PARISH REFRESHER COURSE
BEGINS THIS SUNDAY WITH PARISH FORUM ON ANGLICAN/EPISCOPAL HISTORY

Whether one was confirmed 50 years ago or 5 years ago or is just now considering joining the Episcopal Church - all of us need to review the basics from time to time. Come join in with the rest of your parish community as we prepare to corporately renew our Baptismal Covenant during the Bishop's visit to Grace Church on June 6. From April 25 through May 23  the All Parish Forums (10:10-10:50am each Sunday) will be dedicated to the exploration (and explanation) of Anglican/Episcopal history (April 25), our view of scripture and ministry, our unique styles of spirituality, and our rich tradition of liturgy and music. All are invited and encouraged to attend! A note to those considering confirmation, reception or reaffirmation in the Episcopal Church: This series is part of the Adult Confirmation Course for this year. If you wish to be baptized, confirmed, received, or to reaffirm your vows or are even contemplating one of these actions, this class is for you. Please contact the clergy to let them know of your interest and they will be happy to talk with you about these steps which take place at the Bishop's visit once each year.

FINAL HELPING HANDS

Our last time to host Helping Hands will be on Saturday, April 24, Sunday, April 25 and Monday, April 26. The Senior Youth Group has volunteered to provide dinner on the 25th but we need volunteers to cook and serve dinner on the 24th and 26th, and overnight supervisors for each date. This is your last chance to help with this ministry until next year. The sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board in the narthex, or you can email Charlie Cross at cjcross3ny@yahoo.com.

REMINDERS

OUR TWELFTH SEASON AT BOSCOBEL!  SUNDAY, JUNE 27

If you have attended any of the past eleven performances at the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, you know the setting on the great lawn can't be matched and the actors give their all, rain or shine.   This year's play, The Taming of the Shrew, is a playfully provocative battle of the sexes pitting the shrewish Katharina against the fortune-seeking Petruchio. The Fellowship Commission has already reserved 55 seats for our Grace Church family and friends. So mark your calendars for the 6:00pm performance on Sunday, June 27. Details will follow in the next Messenger and reservations will be accepted beginning in May.
