More Charity Law changes

Since our last Update two more significant Consultation papers have been issued:

review of not for profit governance arrangements (See: http://www.treasury.gov.au/contentitem.asp?NavId=&ContentID=2252) (released 8 December 2011)

the Exposure Draft of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Bill 2012 together with 11 supporting Fact Sheets plus Explanatory Materials (See: http://www.treasury.gov.au/contentitem.asp?NavId=&ContentID=2263). (released 9 December 2011)

More than any of the previous Consultation Papers we see the need for the sector to carefully consider and make submissions on these Consultations. We have been advising on and preparing a number of submissions and if we are able to be of assistance to your organisation please let us know. You will need to act quickly as submissions close on 20 January 2012.
