More Charity Law changes

 

Since our last Update two more significant Consultation papers have been issued:

 

More than any of the previous Consultation Papers we see the need for the sector to carefully consider and make submissions on these Consultations. We have been advising on and preparing a number of submissions and if we are able to be of assistance to your organisation please let us know. You will need to act quickly as submissions close on 20 January 2012.

 

With the number of announcements and Consultation Papers now in circulation we have summarised them with links to relevant Articles in a new section in our Legal Resource Centre called

Privacy and the recording of conversations - employers need policies

 

With the ease with which conversations may now be recorded and broadcast we take a look at some legal implications and the need for employers to have policies in place for their workplaces.

Enabling legislation for Qld Incorporated Associations to migrate to Companies limited by guarantee

 

On 6 December 2001 amendments to the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 (Qld) commenced, allowing a seamless migration of an incorporated association to a company limited by guarantee.
