Vogue Knitting Live in New York City was a treasure trove of ideas - great classes, a yarn market, lectures, and fashion shows. Of major interest to the YOF attendees were the classes on sweater fitting and design. In addition we studied knitting techniques, making garments look professional, and selecting flattering designs for your body. We will be passing on information on many of these topics to you over the next few months. Martin Storey taught a class about cables. We soon will offer a class on how to make these unusual cables which would make a lovely scarf.

We just received some incredibly beautiful Prism Saki - hand dyed sock weight (75 % merino wool /25 % nylon). Each skein is 440 yards and knits at 6 1/2 sts per inch on a size #3 needle. Fantastic wearabiity and washability. One skein of Saki makes a generous pair of socks and would be excellent for any light-weight project. $33.60 a skein .

"Free Range Knitting" A small group of knitters have been meeting one day a week generally starting at 10:30 a.m. for several hours. The day and time are sent out by email Sunday.
