WOW! Rewards Update: Unfortunately, the online Lifestyle Self-Management Programs will no longer be an option for the WOW! Rewards program due to circumstances beyond our control.

Please call a Health Coach at 1-888-318-2282 to complete that portion of the program.

A WOW! Rewards Tracking Form is available for your personal use.
Greetings from the MaineHealth WOW! Team!

Happy New Year from MaineHealth WOW!

We hope you've been enjoying success with your New Year's Resolutions. Looking to improve your eating habits? Try incorporating some kale into your routine. This often overlooked green is full of calcium and the anti-cancer chemical sulphoraphane. Ready to give it a go? See this month's feature recipe: Sweet Kale with Pumpkin Seeds.

This January the WOW! Spotlight shines on making Healthy Lifestyle Changes. First, find out where you stand: make sure your preventive health screenings are up to date.  Beginning this month, health plan members will no longer need to pay co-insurance for selected screenings. (Click here for a list.) Several preventive screenings have been added as criteria for WOW! Rewards. Knowing that schedules can be busy, we suggest you call your health care provider TODAY to make an appointment. FMI on WOW! Rewards, click here.

Need some ideas for creating or maintaining a healthy lifestyle? The MaineHealth Resource Centers offer a variety of classes, such as;

Find out more by visiting www.mainehealth.org >>Classes and Events>> Current Learning Resource Centers Schedule, or call 1.866.609.5183. Fees for these classes may be eligible for reimbursement through the WOW! Rebate program.

Is your diet on your mind? You're not alone. Read the January 2009 WOW! Calendar and be inspired by a group of MaineHealth employees who are taking advantages of Weight Watchers program. Remember, employees who participate in 9 out of 12 Weight Watchers classes can get a $50 WOW! Rebate during every six month eligibility period.   FMI on WOW! Rebates, click here.

Speaking of diet, have you heard of the poseurtarianism? How about the PPBD? Click here for January's "Enlightened Living" column.

Making Healthy Lifestyle Changes can sometimes more difficult than we realize. Don't get discouraged: read Growth for Grownups: One Step at a Time.

May you have a healthy and happy 2009!
