A New Resource to Buy and Sell Building Materials
www.BuildingSurplus.com is new website BGBG members will find very useful. This national website, with local search abilities (a la AutoTrader), categorizes building materials in a way that no other site does. "It really does make finding what you're looking for easier" says Steve Stein founder of the website and local Boulder County resident. "I became frustrated with 'Craigslist' in terms of how much time it took to find things and while I like that site, I felt something more focused would serve our community better."

The categorization system makes it easy to post y
our used or surplus buildng materials and prompts you for details about their listing. The end result is fewer emails between the buyer and seller.

Green Geek Tips
July 18, 2008 - The California Building Standards Commission adopted a green building code yesterday for all new construction statewide as part of a rules package that policymakers said was the first of its kind in the nation.

The code sets targets for energy efficiency, water consumption, dual plumbing systems for potable and recyclable water, diversion of construction waste from landfills and use of environmentally sensitive materials in construction and design, including eco-friendly flooring, carpeting, paint, coatings, thermal insulation and acoustical wall and ceiling panels.
