Greetings! First off, CLICK HERE for a thank you to the great people who helped make our banquet program so special. They were wonderful!
Now it's time to tell you about our new members so far this year! We have been very pleased to welcome:
These ten new members have already been actively involved in some of our events such as the Bunny Trail, the Wayne County Business Showcase, and Breakfast Before Business networking opportunities, as well as making use of our newsletter promotions options. Please take time to visit their websites (click on the names) and to introduce yourself to them soon. You can also search for many of these members on Facebook and "Like" their pages. We see Facebook becoming more and more valuable, and many of you are finding creative ways to share your information and a personal touch with posts on your pages. If you haven't gone to Facebook yet and you would like to learn more about it, give us a call. Lori can get you started.
A special shout -out to Luanne Johnson who presented a very interesting program about Volkswalking at our April 27 "4th Friday Business Matters" luncheon. It was a small audience, but everyone present was quite surprised to learn about the topic and just how popular it is. Did you know that there is a designated Volkswalk route in Orrville that brings a good number of people to town? We hope to do a better job of capitalizing on this local gem. The next luncheon will be about another favorite topic of ours, the Chamber's leadership program. After 8 wonderful years, the committee is totally energized to revamp the program to focus more on core values and more customized receivables for each participant. We can hardly wait to tell you about it, so save your lunch hour on May 25 to come and find out why we are so excited. OK, maybe they don't really look all that excited in this picture, but trust me, they are! Front: Amberly Wolf, First National Bank, Helen Meyers, Orrville Area United Way, Phil McFarren, Chair, City of Orrville. Back: Marc Harvey, Living Water Community Church, David Lehman, Mennonite Mutual Insurance Co., Scott Nussbaum, Hummel Group, Amy Mast, The University of Akron Wayne College, and Darrin Wasniewski, Main Street Orrville. This is a great team!
As we wrap up a great month and begin a new one, I'll close this section by sharing yet another awesome photo of more super people who are helping our community thrive. To read about this good looking group and their good news, click HERE. Members of the WCCF Board of Trustees, Aultman Health Foundation, Aultman Orrville Hospital and the George T. Dunlap Community Foundation Fund met to finalize details. Shown here with a portrait of Dunlap are Dick Wagner (seated, left) and JC. Johnston, III; George Lemon (back, left), T. Stephen Gregory, Mark Auble, Jon Ritchie, Edward J. Roth III and Rod Steiger. Keep thriving!
