Do You Know a Woman Who Walks Alone?
Do you know a woman who 'walks alone?' Maybe you are one.
Since publication of my book, When Women Walk Alone, in early 2002, I've received countless emails and letters from women telling me their stories and how they've "walked alone" - or at least felt like it. Who are these women who feel they walk alone? They're all around you, working alongside you at your place of employment, volunteering alongside you in your ministry, sitting in the seats at your church every Sunday, and waiting on you in your local restaurant.
Women who walk alone are:
· Married, but feeling alone or disconnected in their marriage
· Single and wondering if they'll ever marry
· Divorced and wondering if other women really understand
· Living in abusive marriages and don't know how to get help
· Married to men who don't share their faith or spiritual convictions
· Living with a husband who abuses drugs, alcohol and/or pornography, but don't feel they can talk to anyone about it
· Single moms who often feel stressed, schedule-wise and financially
God tells us in His Word that we are never truly alone. He tells us He will never leave us nor desert us (Hebrews 13:5). David, the Psalmist, tells us in Psalm 139:8-10 that even if we "go up to the heavens...rise on the wings of the dawn, (or) settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast." Although we may feel we walk alone, He walks alongside us, though His footprints are not seen (Psalm 77:19).
Do you need a daily reminder that you never truly walk alone? Or do you want to encourage someone you love with that same message? I thought so. And therefore, I wrote a 31-Day Devotional to help you -- or someone you love -- face each day of the month with a renewed sense of hope and a peace that comes from knowing He's there and He's listening.
