7th Green Home Tour:

  

 

The annual Green Home Tour, sponsored by Stock Building Supply and presented by the Green Home Builders of the Triangle, will showcase 26 high performance, green homes.  This free self-guided Tour is planned for two consecutive weekends - May 5-6 and May 12-13 from 12-6 pm daily and homes are located throughout Durham, Orange, Chatham and Wake Counties. The Green Home Builders of the Triangle is a joint council of the Home Builders Associations of Durham, Orange and Chatham Counties and of Raleigh-Wake County.

 

A Kickoff Event & Educational Panel, including complimentary breakfast courtesy of Green Planet Catering, will take place on Saturday, May 5th from 10:30 am - Noon at the Briar Chapel Clubhouse in Chatham County (1600 Briar Chapel Parkway, Chapel Hill 27516). There will also be a Green Tour Reception at the new home of Studio B Architecture and BuildSense on Saturday, May 5 from 5 - 7 pm (502 Rigsbee Avenue, Durham). The public is invited to attend both events to learn more about the Green Home Tour and green building methods.

  • May 30th - Deep in the Heart of Taxes Elective, Taught by Debbie Long

This course offers licensees information about the tax consequences of owning, buying, and selling a home and includes opportunities to discuss deductions, capital gains taxation, moving expenses, vacation homes, and the impact of foreclosures and short sales on residential homeowners. Class will be held from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at ExtraOrindary Ventures, across from Whole Foods on Elliott Road.

Upcoming Events

 

  • May 8th, Property Management Council - New Location!

All members of GCHAR are invited to join the Property Management Council meeting, but you must pre-register for room layout planning purposes. The 

May meeting is limited to 22 attendees due to room size restrictions. 

Participants are responsible for payment of their individual lunch orders. The meeting will be held from 12pm to 1:30 at the CAROLINA BREWERY.
