Lending and Appraisal Member Meeting

At the September Member Meeting, our wonderful members suggested a fabulous array of educational topics for future meetings.  We are very happy to announce the Education Committee lost no time investigating possible speakers and found funds to present one last member meeting in 2011.  On October 31st representatives from the Triangle Lenders Association and Mel Black with the Appraisal Council will be presenting much needed information about the changes in lending practices and the new Fannie Mae appraisal laws.

Featured speakers will be MEL BLACK (Attorney at Law), ANNE WATSON (current president of TMLA), LEON SCHEARER (American Real Estate and Appraisal Company) and JOHN DEHART (of Wells Fargo)

The meeting will be held at ExtraOrdinary Ventures on October 31st. Lunch will begin at 11:30 and the meeting will begin at 12:00.

Upcoming Events

  • November 9, 12pm to 1pm -  Lunch 'n Learn featuring George Smart - Director of Triangle Modernist Houses

Bring a bag lunch for yourself and learn something valuable! George Smart, founder and director of the award-winning non-profit Triangle Modernist Houses (TMH), will present "Mayberry Modernism: North Carolina's Modernist Legacy". Mayberry Modernism showcases the state's surprisingly large collection of Modernist residences from the 1950s through today, particularly those in the Triangle region. The Triangle has the third largest concentration of Modernist houses in the nation, bested only by Los Angeles and Chicago. Smart's presentation includes photographs over 50 award-winning homes from the 1950's through today.

  • November 17 - Installation and Awards Banquet

So maybe we won't have the drama of Two and A Half Men's Charlie Sheen meeting his replacement Ashton Kutcher on the red carpet, but we will have drama!  And the best dressed women. And fabulous entertainment.  And delicious food.  And recognition with outstanding awards. Make plans to join us on November 17 from 5-7:30pm at the Sheraton for our annual Installation and Awards Banquet with an Emmy theme. Recognizing the impact the economy has on our membership, we are once again keeping the cost to attend low at just $15/person for members and $20 non-members.
