There are also CE classes included in the auction! The NC Housing Finance Agency donated two Financing Dreams classes, which teach members all about the financing and down payment assistance programs that can help them sell more homes. These classes are valued at $350 and in last year's auction went for $100 each. |

Caring Community Foundation's Pay-it-Forward Party Celebrates Eleven Years of Helping Local Cancer Patients 11th Annual Fundraiser Saturday, September 10 at Renaissance at North Hills
The Caring Community Foundation (CCF), a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping Triangle-area cancer patients in need of financial assistance, is proud to announce its annual Pay-it-Forward Party fundraiser. On Saturday, September 10 at the Renaissance Raleigh Hotel at North Hills, the charity will host an evening of fundraising, food and fun from 7 pm to midnight.
The Pay-it-Forward Party is open to the public. The event will include heavy hors d' oeuvres, an open bar featuring beer and wine, live entertainment provided by Mr. Potato Head, dancing and a live auction. WRAL-TV's Debra Morgan will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies and will help run the live auction, with items up for bid including a trip to Aruba, a Siena Hotel Chef for a Day package, restaurant gift certificates, day spa gift certificates, and much, much more.
Tickets are available online through September 6 for $50 per ticket; tickets will be $65 at the door. Buy your tickets early to receive the best price! Tickets include food, drinks and entertainment. Raffle tickets and auction items are not included in the ticket price.

Bring your sense of humor and your dollars to NC RPAC's first ever statewide "Miss RPAC" Beauty Pageant! Brave male REALTORS® from across the state will be our contestants. They'll dress up as pageant hopefuls and showcase their talents, while also raising money for RPAC. Sequins, anyone? This event will have it all: beauty, fabulous gowns, hair, make-up, high heel shoes and even talent performances. Will they dance, sing, juggle or play the spoons as they sashay down the runway for your votes and the title of "Miss RPAC!" Have fun while also making a significant investment in your profession! The event will be held at the NCAR Convention and Expo on Sunday night, September 11!

- September 1st (Thursday) - Demographics, Divesity and Fair Housing Elective Class, Taught by Debbie Long
Dramatic social and demographic changes in the U.S. have made fair housing a "front burner" issues for real estate practitioners. For example, Hispanics, African-Americans and other minorities continue to report discrimination in housing and lending. The "age wave" has also created new problems (as well as new opportunities) for real estate practitioners who help elderly real estate consumers. Finally, immigration trends also indicate that real estate licensees will need to become more cultural proficient in their daily practice.Class will be held from 1pm to 5pm at Farrington Road Baptist Church - at the intersection of Highway 54 and Farrington Road, across from Nantucket Restaurant.

Bring a bag lunch for yourself and learn something valuable! George Smart, founder and director of the award-winning non-profit Triangle Modernist Houses (TMH), will present "Mayberry Modernism: North Carolina's Modernist Legacy". Mayberry Modernism showcases the state's surprisingly large collection of Modernist residences from the 1950s through today, particularly those in the Triangle region. The Triangle has the third largest concentration of Modernist houses in the nation, bested only by Los Angeles and Chicago. Smart's presentation includes photographs over 50 award-winning homes from the 1950's through today.
