Quick Marketing Tip - 9.22.08
Hispanic Heritage Month (September) is the perfect time to reach out to the growing Hispanic community in the US. According to a study by the Pew Hispanic trust, more than 12% of Hispanic population in the US for the year ended 2006, earned more than $50,000. An additional 40% earned between $20 - $40,000. Very few wealth management providers are targeting these individuals as Hispanics, despite the fact that the vast majority has said they would not mind being approached because of ethnicity; in fact, most are very proud of their heritage. As a means of capturing this demographic, many wealth management providers are now taking such steps as advertising their products in Spanish, and, more importantly, creating investment products designed or marketing specifically for Hispanics. For example, the family-oriented Hispanic community would respond well to the concept of college savings plans. Also, a mutual fund with a low threshold to initial investment might interest some Hispanics, this according to a Dallas consulting firm. Be sure to check local newspapers for area events that celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Many may be looking for Sponsorship. Source: "Hispanics are seen as ripe clients for wealth business."
