According to a recent report by CNN Money, the Municipal sector, made up of State, County, and local government employees, is bracing for the largest number of layoffs in the coming months.

Along with the new fiscal year that started July 1, 2008 for most municipal workers, has come potential layoffs in at least 29 states, most notably, California, Florida and Ohio. Even if the decline in jobs is only 1%, it could impact 200,000 workers, making it a highly significant industry sector decline.
