Legal Industry Layoffs are Growing
Many firms in the legal industry have begun laying off attorneys whose practices have slowed in order to maintain the firms' profit margins amid a slowing economy. Not surprisingly, the legal specialties most often on the chopping block these days are real estate law, litigation, and lawyers at firms who have built a sizeable practice advising on the issuance of mortgage-backed securities.
