Ggood Deed -- Indeed!
Gg team member, Stacy Marsden, working with a team of volunteers raised over $150,000 for Shedd Park in Lowell, MA in 2007.  Now, where there used to be graffiti and illegal behavior there are families enjoying one of the nicest city parks in Massachusetts.

What's New

New Team Member:  Gg was pleased to welcome a new team member in 07, Mike Cataldo. After graduating from Harvard University in 2002 with a psychology degree, Mike worked as a recruiter for Baystate Financial Services in Boston and as a marketing director for a casino in Las Vegas. But the lure of ocean (or maybe the Boston sport scene) proved too much so he cashed in his chips and moved back to MA in the summer of '07 to join The Gallagher Group as a research and marketing specialist and to work with his father, veteran financial services representative, Tom Cataldo. We're delighted to have Mike on Gg's team!

Public Employee funding challenges could mean market opportunity

According to a recent report by Pew Charitable Trusts, state retirement benefits for US public employees are under funded by about $731 billion; eleven states were found to have long term liabilities in excess of $10 billion, including New York and California, which had debts of $50 billion and $48 billion, respectively.

 

Further, the report determined that while states have set aside enough to cover about 85% of long-term pension costs, they have saved only 3% of the funds necessary to cover promises made to retirees about health care and other benefits.

Year end real estate decline is a challenge that could mean market opportunity
Year end statistics in the real estate market show that 2007 recorded a decline of 32% in the West, 27% in the Midwest, and 26% in the South!  The Northeast however, posted a 1.6% addvance.
