Partners E-Update March/April 2009
|
Greetings!
As a way to say a great big "Thanks for your membership!" NYFJ is committed to connecting you to our Organizational Partners' events each month! We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to get connected. This month check out the what's what at the Bruderhof Community Harlem House.NOTE: If you are not an individual member and you've received this email, then you are a faith leader. NY Faith & Justice has a special treat to offer faith communities in New York City and throughout the northeast this Spring.

Tracy Howe (singer/songwriter and NY Faith & Justice Artist in Residence) is a prolific worship artist who has toured the world full-time since 2000. I met her a year ago while she was partnered with Brian McLaren on his Everything Must Change book tour. She joined the Envision '08 Conference Worship team in June, then joined my Evangelical Does Not Equal Repubican...or Democrat book tour in October. Through her music Tracy seeks to engage communities working for justice. Her music is striking and her lyrics reveal God's desire for redemption, reconciliation, and restoration.
As a part of her residency, Tracy will offer her ervices to faith communities throughout the northeast. Consider bringing Tracy to your congregation for worship workshops, special concerts, special music on Sundays or just as a worship leader who fills in to give your worship team a break ;p. Her usual concert fee is $400 for local churches and $800 for others. Tracy wants to offer your faith community her services for nothing but travel expenses plus the ability to pass the hat and sell CD's.

Thank you again for your continued support. We look forward to connecting with you again this spring!

Join us for our March get-together. At this
month's gathering, we will focus our reflections on Easter - not just as an
historical event, but as something of current significance. One theme we will
discuss is the question of what God's justice is, and how the Cross relates to
it.
This is a NY Faith & Justice event hosted by The Harlem House Community, an Organizational Partner of NY Faith & Justice.
