2009 Countdown #1 Just Made It!
|
Greetings!
We just made it!
Throughout the last day of 2008, faith-filled friends of NY Faith & Justice gave what they could. Then, at 10:48pm a generous online donation put us over the top!
Today we are standing in awe, with new possibilities for a new year! God heard our cry. You heard our call. And in two weeks, you gave $20,500!
Thank you.
It is not too late to join or become a financial partner. We are still seeking faith-filled people to partner with us throughout 2009 and for years to come. If you'd like to give in the new year, please click here to join the movement.
This process has strengthened our faith and solidified our resolve. We will move forward in 2009 with Conversations for Change and Faith Leaders for Environmental Justice. We will mobilize artists to share their visions of justice. And we will continue to meet once a month "on The Bridge" and in fellowship groups to following Christ, unite the church, and end poverty in our city.
May God bless your 2009. May God bless our city and cities across the country. May God bless those with their backs pressed against walls. And may God bless this year of change.
You'll be hearing from us again soon with updates on NYFJ initiatives and programming, which starts again the first week of February. And if you're in the city on January 19th, please stop into the Barnes and Noble at 2289 Broadway (@ 82nd Street) where I'll be reading from my book, Evangelical Does Not Equal Republican ... or Democrat.
Peace & Joy in 2009,
