2009 Countdown #5 Just Partnerships
|
Greetings!
New York Faith & Justice has one goal in the next five days - to continue our work in 2009. We work for a city where practiced justice grows our faith and practiced faith builds a just city.
2009 promises to be a great year with great promise!
- Right now, artists are organizing to leverage the power of their visions in partnership with the most vulnerable in our city.
- Right now, faith leaders are organizing to leverage the weight of their influence on issues of climate justice, food justice, and energy consumption in partnership with those pushed to the margins of our city.
- Right now, faith communities in the South Bronx are organizing February/March '09 Conversations for Change. These community-based dialogues will rebuild trust and partnership between South Bronx residents and the police charged to serve and protect them.
New York Faith & Justice is partnering with churches and other faith communities, advocacy agencies, community organizers and government representatives to facilitate these collaborative initiatives and we want to see them through. We thank each of you who have already given! In 10 days, you gave or pledged $16,770 toward the $20,000 we need by December 31st.
