NY Faith & Justice
Dear NY Faith & Justice,

Our
time "on The Bridge" last Saturday was awesome!
We celebrated the new era our country has entered even as we acknowledged the depth of the break that still exists - especially within the church.  It was a joy-filled time and a sobering one - all at once.

Personally, my favorite moment came after the gathering when about 16 of us piled into a local diner and swapped stories of God's work in our communities over the past year.  At one point, the eight people at my table shared story after story about how their understandings of "justice" were formed. For some it was a particular scripture.  For others it was an experience.  Still others were in the middle of that formation process, even as we talked.  The stories were profound.

Our next gathering "on The Bridge" will be a Christmas Party.  (Stay tuned for more info to come.)  There will be no main speaker - rather, our ethnically, ideologically, liturgically and geographically diverse gathering will celebrate the coming of the peaceable kingdom through song, art and story - our stories, that is. We will share testimonies of God's work in our lives and in our city to bring light into the darkness.  Don't miss it!

In the meantime...
