The next "Song of the Heart" weekend with myself and Judy is here in Hove the weekend after next, from Friday evening 26th to Sunday 28th. We only offer these weekends four times a year, and each one is very special, as we enter deeply into the mood of the seasons and nature. You can come to the Friday night only as a 'taster'. It is also possible to attend for the Saturday only, although attendance for the whole weekend is HIGHLY recommended! This late November workshop is a chance to really focus on letting go, like the leaves, to surrender to the encroaching darkness by tapping into the eternal light and radiance within each of us. It will be especially supportive to anyone dealing with grief, loss, endings, death, issues with anscestors. We offer a wonderful combination of Indian raga (focusing on the deep resonance of the notes), First Nature (body, breath and voice work), and the culmination of bringing this relaxation and fluidity into songs from our own traditions . We use poetry, prose and activites out in nature to connect ourselves with the mood of the season.
The workshop is suitable for anyone who loves to sing and wants to let go into a deeper place with the vibrations of the voice - we do not focus on highly technical aspects of Indian raga, more on the resonance within the body, and we create a very safe and nurturing sanctuary.
Alongside a supportive space which allows sound and silence to touch and heal difficult emotions, the mood is of gentle celebration - we enjoy nourishing, delicions seasonsal food together and there is usually lots of laughter and good company.
