Plan to have fun!

We're open weekends until November 2nd!

Greetings!

The corn maze is open and the response has been incredible. Here are some of the comments we have received -

"Great corn maze!" - Cathy, Harrison, ME.

"Your staff was very helpful." - Johnson Family, CT

"I've been to other corn mazes but this one beats them all. It was a lot of fun and we loved playing the pirate game. Very entertaining." - Patrick,  MA

"I'm gong to come back next weekend with my sister and her kids." Judy & John, Saco, ME.

We've had hundreds of families and groups of friends spend time together searching for clues and navigating the corn maze.  Some people just like to roam around the giant maze while others par-take in playing the Pirate Adventure game. (We have 23 game stations hidden in the maze. The challenge is to find them all and then solve the word puzzle.) Whether you wander or play, it's still a great way to spend time outdoors.

The other big hit has been the petting barn. The emu, miniature horses, pigmy goats, sheep and piglets are getting plenty of attention. They love the snacks and petting and I'm sure will be disappointed once the corn maze comes to a close in early November.

The weather this weekend looks perfect for spending some time outside having fun. We hope you can join us. If you can't make it, here are some photos!

Petting Barn

Petting Barn - home to some common, and some not-so-common barnyard friends!

If you visit the maze, you'll see we have been working on some of the old farms buildings. Over the last year we have made many improvements to the old Ram Ewe Farm on Rt. 26 and have many more under way. Join us as we reclaim a piece of history and return this fine farm to its former glory.

Hope to see you at the maze. COME GET LOST!

Yours truly,
                                  Kathie and Peter Bolduc

 Living Green Tips

Dryer Tips  (When a close line is not an option.)

Make it a habit to clean the lint trap after each load.  The dryer will work more efficiently and built up lint traps is the biggest cause of house fires.

Don't overfill the dryer. Air needs to circulate to dry the clothes. Overloading wastes energy and time. If you add a clean, dry towel to a load of heavy items (jeans, towels, comforter, quilts, etc) it will speed the dry time.

Proper venting. Open a window when using the dryer. A closed up laundry room gets very humid and the humidity gets sucked into the dryer, decreasing its effectiveness. If your dryer has an exhaust leading to the outside, ensure that it's cleaned regularly.

If you use fabric softener, scrub the lint screen with a toothbrush and shampoo a couple of times a month. The softener can clog the little holes and will cause your dryer to be less efficient.

If you want to cut down on chemical fragrances in your laundry soap but still like a fresh scent, put eucalyptus oil on a wash cloth and toss it in the with drying clothes.
