The Buzz: A Thin Line
In the digital age, the Web and cell phones help us communicate but have also led to a new trend in sexting, textual harassment and cyberbullying. MTV's A Thin Line campaign seeks to empower youth to identify,
respond to, and stop the spread of digital abuse in their life and amongst their peers. The campaign is built on the understanding that
there's a "thin line" between what may begin as a harmless joke and
something that could end up having a serious impact on you or someone
else. |
OLC Feature of the Week: Educators - Helping Teens Make Safer Choices!
Did
you know that less than half of all mothers who have a child before 18 ever
complete high school?
This raises the need to address the issues of teen pregnancy and school
success. Greater efforts must be made to implement programs that have been
proven effective to reduce the rates of pregnancy, HIV, and other sexually
transmitted diseases (STDs) among our young people. Educators have many options
for teaching Sexuality Education, and
a great option is Safer
Choices!
