The Buzz: Teen Expressions 2010 Designed solely for teens, this contest encourages young people to creatively express how teen pregnancy and other issues affect their lives. This year's theme 'I Am A Teen. Is there an App for that?' will allow teens to showcase their talents and have their voices heard throughout the state. Contest deadline is March 12.

- What does it mean to replicate a program with fidelity, and how important is it?

Grants AvailableGeorgia-Pacific Foundation The Georgia-Pacific Foundation supports a wide range
of organizations that improve the quality of life in communities where
Georgia-Pacific operates, and where company employees live and work.
The Foundation has identified the following key
investment areas: education, including job readiness and literacy; community
investment, including affordable housing and cultural programs; environment,
including resource conservation and clean air/clean water; and entrepreneurship,
especially among youth, women, and minorities. Grants generally range from
$1,000 to $5,000. Grant applications will be accepted between January 1 and
October 31, 2010. Visit the company's website to take the required online

Girls Going Places Entrepreneurship Award Program The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is accepting entries for its Girls Going Places Entrepreneurship Award Program.This annual Guardian's initiative is designed to reward the
enterprising spirits of girls ages 12 to 18. Guardian awards prizes
to 15 girls who demonstrate budding entrepreneurship; are taking the
first steps toward financial independence; and make a difference in
their schools and communities. Every year, prizes totaling $30,000 are
granted to three top winners and 12 finalists each year, to further
their entrepreneurialpursuits or save for college. Applications must be received by February 26.
2010 Community Awards Program The South Carolina Chapter of the March of Dimes has announced funding available for community-based programs working to address the health concerns of pregnant women and infants in the state.
Eligible applicants are not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, for-profit organizations, and government agencies providing services in South Carolina. Grants may be used to support activities such as purchase and distribution of March of Dimes health education materials, implementation of March of Dimes community programs, or a conference for health professionals. Award amounts will range up to $3,000.The application deadline is February 26, 2010. Building Healthy Communities Grant Program The Home Depot is offering grants, up to $2,500, to registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, public schools or tax-exempt public service agencies in the U.S. who are using the power of volunteers to improve the physical health of their community. Grants are made in the form of The Home Depot gift cards for the purchase or tools or materials. Grants are highly competitive and there are three grant cycles for 2010, with a deadline of March 1 for the first cycle.
MAC AIDS Fund: U.S. Community Grant Opportunities The M·A·C AIDS Fund supports nonprofit organizations that are providing vital services to people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. The Fund's U.S. Community Grants Program provides grants of up to $50,000 to service providers for U.S.-based programs that are providing food and nutrition or housing services to people living with HIV/AIDS. Online applications for Food and Nutrition Community Grants must be submitted by March 15, 2010. The Housing Community Grants online application will be available on the Fund's website in March and applications will be due on June 15, 2010. 2010 Make a Powerful Difference Contest The makers of Pine-Sol cleaners have launched the 2010 Make a Powerful Difference Contest, which will award grants online to women who are helping improve their communities and are making extraordinary change. One grand-prize winner will receive $10,000 to make a difference for their community or cause, while an additional nine finalists will each receive $1,000 to help support their initiatives. Applications are due by March 22.
Drug Free Communities Support Program The Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) are accepting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2010 Drug Free Communities Support Program (DFC) grants. The purpose of this program is to establish and strengthen collaboration to support the efforts of community coalitions working to prevent and reduce substance use among youth. The application deadline is March 19.
