Marjorie Saulson AMSOV PresidentWelcome from Marjorie

Dear ,

In addition to focusing on our spectacular up-coming conference, this issue of eNews lists the volunteer fundraising projects reported by AMSOV organizations in our Winter 2011 newsletter recently mailed to AMSOV members.  (This newsletter is also available on our website, www.amsov.org.)

Fundraising activities generally occupy a huge amount of volunteer time and effort. Sometimes we get so involved in the minutiae of planning events, we forget a few key strategies which I discussed in the newsletter:

1. One of the best ways to make money is not to spend it unnecessarily.
2. Always make it easy for people to give you more money.
3. Use every event as an opportunity to enroll new members.

We hope you'll attend the upcoming AMSOV Conference in Houston where we'll share ideas about fundraising projects and learn how other volunteer organizations plan and staff their projects.

If you find yourself being asked to lead committees and  organize events for your volunteer organization, we hope you will come as part of your organization's delegation. You will leave the conference with new ideas, new contacts and a new level of enthusiasm for being a volunteer.

I look forward to seeing you in Houston,
Marjorie Saulson, AMSOV President
