♫   NOTES AND NEWS FROM MARJORIE   ♫

Dear :

Welcome to the first eNews of the 38th AMSOV biennium. Our online newsletter will share information about orchestra volunteer projects, facilitate networking among members, and share information about the next conference, which will take place in Houston, April 27-30, 2011.

Our recent conference in Detroit played out the theme Through Music We Build Community. Attendees shared new and effective ways to support our orchestras and experienced the joy of music in the acoustically superb Orchestra Hall and other splendid venues.

Key conference topics included volunteer/staff relationships; audience and volunteer diversity, fundraising projects and service to our orchestras. Being a part of the AMSOV community enables us to share information throughout the year as our economic and social environment changes.

AMSOV's budget and its ability to serve you depend upon prompt payment of dues. The modest cost for the two year term is $200 for Principal Organizations, $100 for Affiliate Organizations and $50 for Alumni Members who have attended a conference. You may download dues payment forms at www.amsov.org

Please see articles below for more information about our next conference, and about our new AMSOV board members and how they plan to serve you.

Thank you for the dedication to your orchestra and your commitment as a volunteer. I wish you every success in all of your endeavors. It is an honor and a joy to serve as your AMSOV president.

Marjorie Saulson, AMSOV President
