Community Cares!
The next Community Cares meeting will be on Sunday, August 29 at 2:00 at the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center (315 W. Court Street, Milwaukee, WI). Community Cares was organized after the May murder of transwoman Chanel Larkin, and is dedicated to using this tragedy as springboard to positive change. In addition to reporting on past actions and getting updates on current projects, this meeting will focus on helping people write and submit victim impact statements in preparation for sentencing of Chanel's killer. To help us have adequate food at the meeting, RSVPs are requested at
tgwarrior@forge-forward.org, on facebook, or by calling 414-559-2123.
Court date: Plea hearing.
The person (Andrew Olaciregui) accused of murdering Chanel Larkin will be given a "plea hearing" at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31 in Room 502 of the Safety Building (821 West State Street, Milwaukee, WI). FORGE cannot guarantee that the defendant will appear at this time, although we will try to let people know if we learn of a postponement or cancellation.
