Do you provide services to LGBT people?  More than half of LGBT people are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or hate crimes, and ALL of us are affected by these crimes.  FORGE is sponsoring a full-day training on working with LGBT crime victims at the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center (315 W. Court Street) on Saturday, August 22, and repeating it at the Milwaukee Center for Independence (2020 W. Wells Street) on Wednesday, August 26.  This highly interactive, fun, and innovative training will cover: best practices in policies and procedures related to LGBT "cultural competency," changing coworkers' and clients' anti-LGBT attitudes; identifying and lowering barriers to service for LGBT violence survivors; and improving the LGBT community's ability to recognize and deal with domestic  violence, sexual assault, and hate crimes.   Morning beverages, snacks, a boxed lunch, and a binder full of materials to take back to the office is included in the cost.  Suggested registration is $35.  Please pay what is best for you, between $25 and $55.

Cost: $35 (sliding scale from $25 - $55)
