Greetings!
It is amazing to think of the significant changes that have occurred in our country since last quarter. Our country elected a new leader, the SEC published its much anticipated proposed roadmap for the potential transition to IFRS, and Jay Leno is now prime time . Here at Red Moon Solutions, we too have had fun and exciting things happening. First, Fixed Assets Manager received CPA Technology's highest rating in its 2008 review of fixed asset management systems. Second, we put the finishing touches on our next FAM release (2008.01). Third, our PowerOLAP solution was presented to the Chicago Tax Club as a part of the Next Generation of Tax Management solution. Lastly, we continue to grow our FAMily (thank you for your continued referrals).

 FAM Achieves Highest Rating

 FAM Updates
The next release is scheduled for January 2009. We continue to work with the FAM User Group and are keeping abreast of the SEC's International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) progress to identify future product enhancements.
The current release is 2007.02* and contains all updates for 2007; including Bonus Depreciation per the 2008 Economic Stimulus Act and 2007 auto limits.

 FYI: Florida Emergency Rule Addresses Bonus Depreciation Decoupling Issue
In Chapter 2008-206, Laws of Florida, the Florida legislature expressed its intent not to incorporate the federal 50% bonus depreciation provisions or the temporary increase in the IRC Sec. 179 limitations in calculating Florida corporate income tax liability. However, the language adopted by the Florida legislature has led to some uncertainty for taxpayers regarding the Florida corporate income tax application of these provisions.  Red Moon Solutions Part of Next Generation Tax Management Solution Red Moon Solutions along with True Partners Consulting and Intelysis presented The Next Generation of Tax Management, at the Chicago Tax Club's 55th Annual Fall Seminar.
The presentation showcased how one US based manufacturing company evaluated their total tax risk and has taken steps to mitigate these risks. Essentially, it illustrated how the solution trio of Red Moon Solutions, True Partners Consulting and Intelysis, helped align this publicly traded company's tax IT strategy with a holistic vision of its tax function.
