Greetings!
Although it is barely summer and Thanksgiving is months away, I cannot help to be thankful for a number of good things happening here at Red Moon Solutions. First, I am excited to announce that the FAM User Group is officially kicking off. Thank you to those that have volunteered to help direct the future of FAM. Second, thank you to those who responded to the FAM Customer Survey in April. We learned a lot and will be responding to that information in coming months. Additionally, this will be great information for the FAM User Group Kickoff. Lastly, thank you to those that sent in Q1 client referrals. Congratulations to Mary Mijal of Aker Solutions for winning Q1's prize.

Product News
 FAM Updates
The next release is scheduled for January 2009. We will be working with our User Group and reviewing survey results to identify future product enhancements.
The current release is 2007.02* and contains all updates for 2007; including Bonus Depreciation per the 2008 Economic Stimulus Act and 2007 auto limits. *Note:An update to 2007.02 was released April 23, 2008.

 FAM Feature of the Quarter: Turning on Bonus Depreciation
To turn on Bonus Depreciation, follow these three steps:
- In the Explorer pane, select the desired book, right click and select Open.
- Click Edit to edit the book type
- Under Depreciation Options, check "Elect Bonus Depreciation" and click OK

 FAM User Group to Kickoff
The FAM User Group will officially kickoff on June 13. Kathy Castillo, Director - Domestic Tax, Guardian Industries, has graciously accepted the chair position and is joined by Howard Patent, BPG Properties, Ltd., Jackie McGovern, EnteroMedics, Bridget White of Ethan-Allen, and Andrew Bednarek, RCN Corporation. "I am honored to represent the hundreds of FAM users and am really looking forward to providing feedback to Red Moon Solutions about our software needs to ensure that we are ahead of the curve," states Ms. Castillo. Stay tuned for information from the June kickoff meeting.

 Results are In!
Thank you again to those of you who responded to the Customer Survey. Congratulations to Cathleen Anderson of Burnham Holdings, Inc. She won a $50 AMEX gift card for participating. The User Group will discuss the suggested enhancements. Here are some of the other results:
** Nearly 55% of respondents use Vertex for their tax compliance system
** 33% of respondents use SAP, JD Edwards or Oracle for their Accounting (GL) or business management system (over 55% use another system)
** Over 35% of respondents say data collection is the biggest technology pain faced by the tax department |

 Meet our Team: Jen-of-all-trades
Jennifer Coleman has been assisting FAM clients for over five years by providing optimal client support and by working on several development efforts for FAM. She is invaluable because of her talents for knowing not only the functional side of FAM, but also the technical details behind it. In addition, Jennifer leads Red Moon Solutions' FAM Online environment and corporate website initiatives. She and her family enjoy living in beautiful Sarasota, Florida where outside activities keep them busy year round.
